Recovery is the last line of defence.

AI is finding vulnerabilities faster than organisations can patch them. Sooner or later an attacker gets in, and recovery then decides whether a business is still running the next day.

Published vulnerabilities (CVEs) per year, × 1,000
28.8202340.0202448.22025± 11086.32026** Measured up to 23 October 2026 (86,292). At this year’s pace and September’s, 106,000 to 121,000 over the full year: more than double 2025.

From vulnerability to incident.

The window between a new vulnerability and an attack keeps getting shorter, and attackers go straight for the backups.

29%

of exploited vulnerabilities in 2025 were attacked on or before the day they were disclosed.

141

actively exploited vulnerabilities in the first eight months of 2026, against 127 in all of 2025.

+55%

ransomware incidents in Europe, January to April 2026 compared with the same period in 2025.

94%

of ransomware victims saw the attacker go after their backups as well. 57% of those attempts succeeded.

8×

higher recovery costs when backups are compromised, and the ransom demanded is more than twice as high.

The last layer of defence.

Every new vulnerability raises the odds that the first layers fall short. The last layer then has to bring the environment back clean and complete.

Organisations that have this in order can carry on after any attack, and boards, insurers and regulators increasingly ask for exactly that.

  2. DetectEDR, SOC, monitoring
  3. RespondIsolate, investigate
  4. RecoverWorks when the rest fails

The backup sits beyond the reach of customer and IT partner.

We separate the backup, technically and organisationally, from both the customer and their IT partner. An attacker who steals the customer’s admin rights or breaks into the partner still cannot reach the copy.

Early deletion is only possible with two engineers physically present in the data centre.

Customer environmentAdmin accounts can be stolen.
IT partnerOften manages dozens of customers at once.
Our recovery environmentNo login for customer or partner. Everything by ticket.

Four ways attackers reach the backup.

Patterns from recent incidents in Europe. In most cases the cause lay outside the organisation itself, and none of these routes leads to our copy.

01

A temporary network link

During a data centre move, a hosting provider connects its backups to the same network as production. Ransomware encrypts both, and its customers lose their data.

Where we make the difference

Our copy is never connected to the customer’s network and nobody logs in to it, not even during a move.

02

Through the IT partner

Attackers trick an external IT services provider and use its credentials to get in. Online sales stop for weeks.

Where we make the difference

Credentials of an IT partner give no access to our backup. Recovery runs only through our own engineers.

03

The supplier everyone depends on

Ransomware hits a software supplier, and its customers have to work by hand for days.

Where we make the difference

A supplier that recovers with us keeps running on the same IP address and VLAN. Its customers do not need to change anything.

04

Saved by luck

A wiper deletes nearly every domain controller. One server survives only because a power cut had taken it off the network.

Where we make the difference

What was luck there is standard with us: a copy that nobody can reach or delete early.
